Agape's Attempts  by Agape4Gondor 3 Review(s)

Wonderful, Sharon! I really like how you get into Denethor's head. It's also nice to read a Denethor that isn't a congenital psychopath...(you know, a psych major could probably write a really good thesis on the assumptions of psychpathy made by fan-fiction writers in the LOTR fic-verse).

Well written and a wonderful handling of the character.

Hugs,

Edlyn

Author Reply: Having been 'touched' by the suicide of someone I loved deeply, I could NOT let Denethor die without some sort of 'apology' being made for him. He was sick. Darn it all. His mind malfunctioned and he had a 'brain attack' much as someone else would have a heart attack. (IMHO)

I spoke with a friend who is a psych BEFORE I started writing my 10,000 Years epic - for I wasn't sure about the whys and the wherefors (as if anyone could be sure of such things)... and she approved of where I was heading with Denethor. So -

I thank you for the comment - it is always nice to have affirmation of a stand that is not generally accepted by others!

Blessings!

Another one of your wonderful looks at Denethor! He walked a hard road in many ways.

Beautiful!

Author Reply: Thanks, PT - As you know, I do love Denethor. I hate the suffering he went through.... drat!

Yes, reason to fear--too much reason to fear, and fear makes a poor basis on which to build policy. Another way in which the Enemy snared him.

Author Reply: Once Faramir had betrayed him (at least that's the way he looked at the incident at HA), and Boromir was lost to him, he certainly had a lot to fear! *shudders*
