Agape's Attempts  by Agape4Gondor 4 Review(s)

It's just like Sam not to want to burden the others with his problems. I like this idea, that the memory of Gollum would affect him so strongly. Would love to see a follow up to this.

Author Reply: Thank you ever so much! I cannot tell you how much your kind words mean to me. Had difficulty with this tale!

I'll think about following up on this... Aragorn and Faramir are definitely left wondering... hmmmmmm

Oh! This is . . . well - deep. The hurts and the kindnesses. Wonderful :-)

Author Reply: My heart broke for Sam. And all those in these tales. Sometimes words or places or actions can be so forceful in bringing back thoughts - good or bad. Luckily for Sam, friends were there for him!!!

I love the way that Estel is right there when Arwen cries out for him.

Strange how a memory like that can set someone off. Sam doesn't have much chance of hiding the truth for long with Faramir and Aragorn on the trail.

Thanks for sharing!

Author Reply: Amy! Sam is lost - Aragorn and Faramir will both continue to 'hound' the little guy till they can figure out what's up. In the time after the battle of the Black Gate, things must have been chaotic... no time to really pay attention to each other; just try to get the job done. But I think Aragorn now realizes that a certain 'healing' job is needed for a certain gardener/ringbearer/friend....

As for Estel - Yup - I expect his senses to be always 'honed' on his love!

The argument with Smeagol coming back to haunt him, with him being unwilling to discuss the creature with Faramir? This one has me bugged a bit.

Author Reply: Oh Larner! I miswrote, if that is what you think. He was unwilling to discuss this in front of Arwen... ever kind and sensible and thinking of others, there is no way the Hobbit would do anything to hurt Arwen or bring 'horror' into her life... EVEN knowing that she had seen, in her long years, many horrors... the gentle Hobbit would not allow speak of such things in front of her. Already he must have been horrified to know that he had caused her to cry.

And if I have any clue as to the 'characteristics' of Aragorn and Faramir - I do not think they will let this lie...
