Out of All Knowledge  by Budgielover 17 Review(s)
Unhealthy SarcasmReviewed Chapter: 14 on 4/12/2004
...Why am I not surprised? The Mighty Queen of Cliffhangers (TM) strikes yet again. But you know, one of these days she's just going to snap. After ending a chapter like that with her trademark anguished exclamation of "ah, NO!" (or something similar), the next chapter will begin something like this:

The onlookers waited with bated breath as they realized that something was terribly, terribly amiss. Aragorn's exclamation of "ah, NO!" could only signify that something truly dreadful was happening, and it was becoming obvious that no one in the room had the power to halt the unrelenting tide of darkness that was swept mercilessly into their hearts. "What has happened? Is he alright?" the chorus of voices echoed uncertainly, fearing for the worst. Standing up, Aragorn glanced up with a grimace of pain, and gruffly said "ARGH. I seem to have stubbed my toe on the washstand. Could someone perhaps bring an ice pack over here? Greatly appreciated."

...Heh. Well, you get the gist. I apologise profusely for the lengthy review, I just felt compelled to get that out of my system.

A cliff hanger! Can't wait to find out what happens next!

Author Reply: Hullo, Bluegrass Elf! Thanks for the review, and thanks for letting me know you are enjoying the story. It's always nice to hear from folks. The last chapter should be up soon!

Anso the HobbitReviewed Chapter: 14 on 4/7/2004
Oh my! Yet another cliffhanger.... Great chapter! Brave Merry and Pip, and good old Bilbo. Just marevellous! Update soon. Please, please...

Author Reply: Hi Anso! I'm so glad you enjoyed the chapter. All of the poor hobbits are entitled to a nice, loud, hysterical breakdown after this story. I may join them... :D

Elendiari22Reviewed Chapter: 14 on 4/6/2004
Oh, SHOOT! Any chapter that ends with a character crying, "oh, no!" qualifies as a cliffhanger. I know that you write cliffhangers, and I love your stories, but sheesh! This is evil! You must continue! Please update again soon, Budgie!

Author Reply: Hahahhhaaaa! * Ahem *

I mean ... thank you, Elendiari. I hope that the fifteenth and last chapter will repay everyone for hanging in there and enduring the evil cliffhangers. I promise you that the last chapter does not end on one. Thanks so much for reviewing.

I'm out of breath. And then . . .

You leave us hanging!!!

Wonderful!

Sorry it's been awhile, I didn't realized I hadn't been keeping up. This is all too good.

Author Reply: But Pearl, you knew I had to end this tension-ridden chapter with a cliffhanger! I think that is why I have a series of short, fluffly, happy stories planned, as an apology to everyone who has to endure my evil twist of mind. I'm so glad that you have enjoyed this story, and thank you for letting me know that.

Ahhh... how dare you! Each new chapter costs me one year of my life!

But... earnestly now, that is great. The idea with evil creeping into the room and using the curtain to fight, is brilliant. You keep me hooked though I know how it ends. Update soon, please. Okay? Okay?

Author Reply: I hope each chapter doesn't take a year off your life, Cuthalion - we would miss you. Your support and generous encouragement is greatly appreciated, and I thank you for it.

I hereby declare you the hands-down winner in the Most Complex Story sub-category of the Rivendell Surgery Fic Category.

And it's not over yet (gasp).

Author Reply: Eiluj, that is a title I accept with a bow and a loud "thank you!" Seriously, thank you. I was hesitant to try this story line, as it has been done so well by others, but the response from readers has made it worth it. I just hope you have enjoyed reading it as much as I have enjoyed writing it.

GershwhenReviewed Chapter: 14 on 4/5/2004
What do you mean "ah, no!" @.@

You're doing a great job of continuing to build the already painful tension. Even though I well know what happens in the end, I still find myself furiously reading along to see if Frodo will fight and if the healers will be sucessful. THAT is the sign of a true writer -- you can make the story exciting, even though I know how it will all turn out.

I do so adore your Elrond and the twins, we don't see enough of them in fan fic with the hobbits -- and I do think all three would do anything in Middle Earth to aide the halflings.

Thanks for the great update!

Author Reply: Hi, Gershwhen. I had originally planned this story to be fourteen chapters, but Marigold had such good suggestions that I got all excited again and had to expand it to fifteen chapters to accommodate her ideas. So you can blame HER for the additional angst and waiting. Thanks for your kind words, and for your compliment.

ah, no?! What is that suppose to mean?! That shard is out everything is suppose to be okay now right? Poor Bilbo! How good of him to keep talking to Frodo and hard it must have been for him! Wicked drapes wrapping themselves around Aragorn's throat! That was a bit of a shock, good thing Merry is able to react when prompted! Looking forward to more, can hardly wait to find out what has got Aragorn saying "ah, no"!

Author Reply: Hi, Hai. You have followed this story (and my others) so faithfully. I just wanted to say, 'thanks.' Your encouragement has meant a lot to me.

pebblesReviewed Chapter: 14 on 4/5/2004
Gosh, you are cruel! After all that drama, another cliffhanger? How could you?

Author Reply: Now pebbles, you KNOW I am cruel. You should hear the evil little laugh when I post a cliffhanger like this *smirks* Hopefully, though, the next (and last) chapter will make it up to you. Thanks.
