"deep, peaceful sleep." Hmm. Sounds really good right now. Maybe I should take a hint at evleven someting. Alright, so that's not late for me, but it is if I haven't been feeling well.
Speaking of that, hannon le for such a sweet story! I can sympathize with both Frodo and Saradoc. Frodo because I *hate* *hate* waking people up because I'm sick. I think one of the most humiliating times in my life is when I had to wake my aunt up because I was in such a miserable state. I finally figured that it would be better to ask for medicine than to wake her up to the sound of my retching. It still bothered me that I had to wake her up at all.
And poor Saradoc! Lucky he had someone to clean up Frodo's sick mess! *shuddering* I have to leave the room any time any of my siblings are sick. Even the noise makes me nauseated.
Well, I'm sorry to have taken up your time by recounting my frivolous little experiences. I said all that to say that you did a wonderful job, and I very much enjoyed your story, Lily. And I love your name. :)
Namarie!
God Bless,
Frodo Baggins

Author Reply: I remember the shame of waking someone because you have been sick all too well - though usually I was "lucky enough" to wake relatives to the sound of retching :)

Lavender was very important. It would have been too much for Saradoc to clean Frodo's room all by himself. I couldn't have done it either.

Thank you very much for reading and commenting.

A wonderful Master he would be if he couldn't even handle a sick child.

Oh dear, poor Saradoc! He just needed some practice. And he managed the situation well, I must say.

If only I could see what is going on in that head of his.

That is impossible with Frodo Baggins ;-)

Frodo has already developed a relationship to Saradoc that is remarkably close. It must have cost him quite an effort to ask his cousin for help, concerning the state he was in. And now that he saw how well Saradoc took care of him, he will be even more trusting.

Once again I'm fascinated with Mac's keen perception. What a hobbit! I like him :)

I'm sorry to keep you craving for that kind of relationship in Schicksalsjahre - but it will get better. Eventually :)

Merimac's keen perception? I don't think you need keen perception to realise that Saradoc will never know what is going on in Frodo's head :)

A very reassuring interaction for Saradoc as he develops a closer relationship with his orphaned cousin. How delightful that Frodo is coming to trust him, and that both are developing trust in one another. And Frodo's reaction to vomiting as he did is so realistic for some children I've known, and certainly what I'd expect from him.

Author Reply: I thought the same about the vomiting reaction. Frodo would not feel comfortable to "cause such a fuss".

Thanks for reading.

Oh Lily! This was just lovely! Poor little Frodo, and poor harried Saradoc, coming to an accommodation in Frodo's illness. Of course Frodo loves Saradoc and Esmeralda, but only when he is in a state unable to help himself will he allow that to show--he's still so vulnerable and grief-stricken. And he does know they love him, for that's why he felt safe in seeking Sara out, yet normally he would not acknowledge that to himself either. But it's just so *hard* for all of them.

As for Mac and Berilac, well, that's part of being a parent too, and I'm so glad to see hobbit fathers taking on the task of the crying baby as well.

And when little Merry makes his appearance, Saradoc will have a bit of experience under his belt, so to speak.

Very nicely done!

Author Reply: Thank you so much, Dreamflower.
That's exactly Frodo's problem. He would never acknowledge even to himself how much he loves Saradoc or that he knows how much he is loved - and that of course keeps Saradoc away from him because he on the other hand fears that he would step closer than Frodo wants him to. I'm drifting off to the first part of my German story :p

Frodo is perfect to ... practice for Merry :)

Aw, this is so sweet, Lily. Poor little Frodo! That would be a very awkward situation for him, I'm sure. But considering it was Sara's first time, he did very, very well. And I love the discussion the brothers had and the sweet end.
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Frodo knows how much he is loved, even though he seldom shows it.
Thanks for reading.
