No Man's Child  by anoriath 2 Review(s)

These partings grow more painful for both sides as they become more frequent and endowed with greater danger. May they both know comfort in knowing the other is praying for a safe and soon return of him to their home.

I can see Aragorn hanging out someplace holed up, resting for the night, and just rubbing his fingers along the hair bracelet to remind himself of what he's doing this for.

Thanks Larner. :)

Such beautiful chapters. Though it's rather sad that Aragorn has to leave again...

They didn't use those nicknames in your first version, did they? And I think they didn't get as close to each other then as they are now.

So, I'm eagerly awaiting those chapters I haven't read yet...

Thanks Blueberry! Yeah, if there are any chapters I reread for fun, it's these ones. And yes, very sad for everyone involved that Aragorn has to leave yet again.

And, you're right. Good memory. They didn't get nearly so close in the first draft- even all the way through to the end. It's one of the substantial revisions that I made during the second draft stage. That whole last third of the chapter on the riverbank didn't exist in the first version.
