Awwwwwww! Pippin sacrificing himself for frodo is sweet! I hope those bloody orcs have something bad coming their way!

I must say, after years of reading Frodo angst, I have become more and more unaffected by the seriousness of the injuries he may sustain. Maybe it's because many writers put in too much detail about the injuries rather than the personal affect that injury has on others... without those genuine 'human' reactions, it can be difficult to get a grasp of it's seriousness.

Your writing really impressed me here. I found that you had the perfect amount of detail--the kind I really enjoy. You put in the important details and didn't go overboard. Sometimes it gets tiring to know every single thought from every character. And it's those gut reactions and simple details that tell us more. I find that speculation is everything to me... let's the imagination run wild. :)

"Frodo made a sound that froze the blood in Pippin’s veins."

Just an example of something I liked. You don't specify the sound. And that adds suspense and anxiety. Some writers would say 'Frodo did this and this and then he doubled over and clutched his chest/pippin's hand etc.' Many other things happen in these moments that should remain unsaid, like you did.

I am rambling, aren't I? Just know that you are at the top of my list and that I enjoy and will continue to enjoy the fine art of your writing. I really do feel so refreshed when read your high-quality work! I only wish I could get into published books the way I get into your stories. I have yet to read a book that hits all the right notes like you do here (besides tolkien, that is). :D

He swallowed hard. “Here I am.”

And her I sit, swallowing hard, too, and trying not to cry. What a brave Knight of Gondor - the smallest perhaps, but his courage makes him a true giant. And what has happened with Frodo's broken ribs? One of them has pirced the lung, hasn't it? *is deeply worried*

What an awesome storyteller you are.

LarnerReviewed Chapter: 8 on 9/22/2006
Brave lad, our Pippin. Well done. Now, will they find Frodo in time? A punctured lung can be deadly.

Oh my goodness! You had better take care of Pippin! ANd poor Frodo! If you let either of them die...you won't, though. Right? I officially dub you Master Cliff Hanger! I must keep reading, or I'll go mad!
GOd BLess,
Frodo Baggins

Author Reply: Scarlett, you don't have to apologize for loving angst! We are right there with you. Your earlier comment about feeling guilty for wanting Frodo to suffer made me laugh - we love hurt as long as there is (and will be) plenty of comfort. Thank you for telling me how much you are enjoying the story.

Geez I couldnt get on stories of arda for like 3 days cuz it wouldnt open....And I see you've updated my dear, and i have read your update.
OMG! Frodo's condition sounds so serious!Coughing up blood and nose bleeds?GASP!!!*evil smile of angsty glee* I love you. lol ^-^ Yet he is already hurt my angsty side craves more hurtys for Frodo so you can make him all better in the end. (or close enough to all better as humanly( or hobbitly) possible.^-^)

Pippin acting as Frodo!!?!? Holy Crap.
But if the captures know that he(Frodo)was bleeding then how will Pippin be able to convince them he is the Ringbearer if he isn't bleeding? Or is that part of your plot?hmmm *ponders possibilities*

Hopefully I didnt just have a big brain fart and say something completely off about your story in this review.
Anyhoodles *bows to you* I'm not worthy!lol Great Update! And Thank you for it!

Author Reply: Katie, I think you will find your question on how Pip would be able to convince the kidnappers he was Frodo answered in Chapter Nine - after being set up in this chapter. I had anticipated that question and I am so tickled someone did pick up on it. Clever Katie!

This is very exciting !Poor Frodo, he needs to get to Aragorn quickly. Pippin is just so brave !I eagerly await more.

Author Reply: Hi, Linda! Chapter Nine took a lot of tweaking, but Pippin is very brave and I think you will like it. Thank you for enjoying the fic!

GIRLOFRINGReviewed Chapter: 8 on 7/10/2006
IT IS GETTING MIGHTY ANGSTY! BAD MEN, VERY BAD MEN TO HURT FRODO. VERY BRAVE PIPPIN TO GET TAKEN INSTEAD OF HIS COUSIN. CANNOT WAIT FOR MORE UPDATES. I HOPE THEY ARE SOON.

Author Reply: Hello, Girlofring! Yes, you are right, this story is a major angst-fest. I felt it was time to write something less in the straight action/adventure genre (but still having A/A, of course) so thought I'd give angst a shot. Amazing - the more you pile it on, the more people seem to love it. I'm learning a lot.
