Tales of Life  by Aelaer 6 Review(s)

A lovely vignette Lairė. I found the image of Estel pinching himself to keep from sleeping delightful. Trust wise and loving Elrond to seek to impress on Estel's mind to recall to 'recall the days of joy and light', to 'hold on to hope', and not to give in to hopelessness.

Author Reply: Thank you, Estelcontar; I think that holding onto hope was one of the only ways Aragorn survived some of his toughest years.

The star for which he was, in part, named. Now, to learn to know the hope he himself embodies.

Lovely.

Author Reply: I imagine that the hope itself faltered here and there, but the only way he was able to survive for so long was likely because of hope. Thanks for reviewing.

This was absolutely delightful, Laire. What a wonderful lesson for Estel. Well done.

Author Reply: Thank you, Inzilbeth; I am glad you enjoyed it.

If your own days ever become dark and hopeless, just remember to look upon Gil-Estel and recall the days of joy and light.

Ah, lovely. Hope looking upon hope, and storing it away in his heart.

Nicely done.

Nicely done. I liked how this had the feel of the books (i.e. Gilraen lives), but didn't lose the feeling of MC-style closeness between Elrond and Estel. Very sweet moment between them. =)

Author Reply: Well, the MC-style closeness was taken from the books; it says explicitly in the Appendices that Elrond took Aragorn and raised him as a son. *g* Glad you enjoyed it.
