Tales of Life  by Aelaer 5 Review(s)

What a wonderful glimpse on the reforging of Narsil, and the birth of Andúril. I never thought of Gimli being present then, but nothing seems so natural. After all, what dwarf would not be interested in witnessing the reforging of a work of Telchar of Nogrod.

Author Reply: I truly never thought of it myself until I actually, well, contemplated the scene. I would not be surprised if Gimli wanted to see the forges in his time in Rivendell; going there when Aragorn was present was just the workings of fate :D

It is a darn good thing that they put Elendil's blade back together, Aragorn needs a whole one, not just a hilt. I can imagine that Gimli would find it very interesting.

Author Reply: No kidding; though I do find the image of Aragorn threatening Sauron through the Palantir with a broken Narsil incredibly amusing.

Most people forget the fact that Narsil was reforged before Aragorn left Rivendell. So kudos for that. :)

Author Reply: I'm a larger book fan (as much as I adore the movies), and that is a fact that should not be forgotten as often as it is!

I'm sure Gimli would have been fascinated by Anduril yet it's something I've not seen in a fic before. You did a good job of rectifying that.

Author Reply: It did not occur to me until I thought about writing a fic concerning Anduril. Nonetheless it certainly seems plausible. Thank you for the review.

I liked this very much and think it was just right that Gimli should be present.I especially enjoyed his meeting with Aragorn.

Author Reply: Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed it Linda.
