Web of Treason  by Linda Hoyland 2 Review(s)
BodkinReviewed Chapter: Epilogue 2 on 5/6/2007
If only Faramir did a bit more flaunting of his own achievements - admitting how terribly he has been affected by the actions he had to commit in order to rescue Aragorn from torment and certain death. Weeping over the necessity. Pleading for understanding. Aragorn seems much more confident when being the one dishing out care rather than when receiving it. If Faramir would only let his emotions free, the king would stand a chance of having some sense inserted into his thick head.

But no. Faramir has learned to be stoic, blame himself for other people's failings and expects to endure cruel punishment for things that are not his fault. Really! Sometimes he's as thick as Aragorn. They deserve each other!!

Author Reply: Thank you for your much appreciated review and for all your support throughout this story.I have loved reading and looked forward to your comments very much. You are so right about Faramir, only in the sequel(on the other site) will he let his emotions be revealed. These two certainly deserve each other !

My first draft of this story was quite different and Faramir was quickly forgiven ut it didn't work. If you are interested in some of the earlier ideas, I posted them at http://lindahoyland.livejournal.com/2341.html

Rereading the end of this over the last few days got to me so much I just had to sneak over to the other site and read the next story as far as it goes, (again!)for a comfort fix.

If I get the sack I'm blaming you! :) *g*

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm sorry you found the story upsetting but am touched and surprised it could have such an effect.I found writing the sequel comforted me too. I hope the boss doesn't find out !
