Moments in Time  by Larner 11 Review(s)

A beautiful bitter sweet tale which I found very moving.

Author Reply: Oh, thank you so, Linda! It's always an honor when I realize my writing has moved someone.

I love that you ended with the phrase "make good on his boast." It brings to (my) mind the heroic boasts of Beowulf and of Byrthnoth's men--even of Sam himself("If you don't come back, then I won't, that's certain"). But it is so homely and hobbit-like, too! :-)

Author Reply: Oh, yes--the northern peoples did take their boasts seriously!

Thank you so very much, Socrates!

How nice to see him dancing again! And Sam to be there to see it too! A most joyful day for them both. I love the effect they have on each other. :) And they have yet the greatest journey and adventure before them and they will take it together just as they did the Quest.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Well, you know how much I enjoy thinking of Frodo dancing, after all. Yes, a day of reassurance for both of them. And one more journey before the two of them, one they will take with anticipation.

What a lovely Easter treat! So nice to see Frodo happy and healed, and Sam there to see him.

Thank you, dear!

Author Reply: Am so glad this pleased so many, Dreamflower. And thank you!

You have granted him the last healing he needed....”

That's very true! Only with Sam's arrival Frodo's healing could be completed. And only by seeing this, Sam could be healed, too.

I'd say give them more time to dance together in joy, but when they take one step further, *time* won't exist any more and their dance will last for all eternity!

Happy Easter to you!

Author Reply: Oh, how very true, Andrea. Each is the final healing for the other, and indeed they shall soon enough join the Lord of the Dance!

Thank you so!

Lovely, Larner! Oh, I do understand so well how Sam must have felt, seeing his beloved Master dancing again! It's a joy we all share, I suspect.

Happy Easter!

Author Reply: Thank you so very much, Kitty. And knowing Frodo was healed helps us accept we, too, will know healing in our own time.

Hope your Easter was joyful!

A lovely story for Easter Day. Both finding the healing they need to be ready to go on in each other. A time to dance indeed.

Happy Easter Day & Season Larner.

Author Reply: No question--indeed a time to dance and rejoice.

Thank you so, Harrowcat, and hope your visit with your parents is more peaceful than the last one was! Easter joy to you and yours.

Lovely ficlet for Easter, Larner. Thanks for sharing. May we all find our joy, here or in the hereafter.

Author Reply: Amen--be it so! And a joyful Easter season to you and yours, Arthur.

Ah, to see Frodo dancing in joy again, well worth the wait!
A little bittersweet perhaps, but the Valar and his friends had wanted to see Frodo healed before he went on.
More please,
Happy Easter,
Lynda

Author Reply: Yes, well, well worth the wait! And Frodo did find his healing and his joy again before returning his Light and Song to the Source of all such gifts!

Thank you so!

he was able to find his joy again

They both were; true healing indeed. A lovely story, Larner.

Author Reply: Thank you so, Shirebound! Joy to you today!
