Shadow and Thought  by Linda Hoyland 3 Review(s)

Yay,Aragorn's getting better! And I like the stories Eowyn told about Grima and why she learned to use a sword in the first place. It gives more insight into her character. She was indeed lucky Gandalf and the three hunters showed up when they did, as I have no doubt that rotter Grima would have indeed forced her to sleep with him under threat of him killing Theoden if she disobeyed.

I can't believe Eowyn would consider regicide!

My favorite line is this one. "Faramir hesitated, unsure whether to console her or arrest her." It's so tragic it's almost funny.

I love how everything finally got out in the open in this chapter. I only hope things will get better between them all now.

Author Reply: i based this scene on one in the Tristan and Isolde epic.Eowyn is just so angry, bitter and feeling betrayed.

One often does wonder whether to laugh or cry at moments of high drama !

Many thanks for your kind review.

Not the best conversation to have with a rather sharp elven blade at your throat. But still - the air is clear and now all can be sweetness and light.

Or maybe not!
