Wonderful! I like the progression of thought.

Author Reply: Thanks!

My computer's back!!

And how lovely to find these--yes, I can just imagine that it's exactly how Bilbo felt, with grasping Lobelia hovering over his shoulder!

Let me second Larner's rec for "Nothing of Note"--I nominated that for a MEFA myself, and have recced it a couple of times; it's a *lovely* Bilbo fic! And she has another here on SoA, a WIP called "Stone of Erebor" in which Bilbo plays detective on his second visit to the Lonely Mountain!

Author Reply: Hurrah! Three cheers!

Have put "Nothing of Note" on my "want to read" list.

(shouldn't even *be* online at the moment...)

Perhaps the moment he first decided to make it official. Yes, I agree. The vulture image suits our Mistress Lobelia well!

Author Reply: Goodness, you're right, the vulture image is particularly apt!

(Perhaps she intends to drive him into his grave, if he won't go peacefully in good time.)

Get a move on, Bilbo. Lobelia is moving in for the kill. LOL
For some reason I could see Lobelia flying around and around over top of Bag End like a vulture in this one!

Author Reply: Yes, and with a measuring stick in hand to see just where her furniture would fit.

Here's the link. I read it first at FFN, and suggested she post here, which she now does. A marvelous writer, and you'll love the way Bilbo prepares for expected housebreakers. It is one of the funniest and most appropriate means of dealing with young Lotho and his buddies I've ever seen.

And even her chapter titles are marvelous. As for visiting Dwarves, well, you'll see! Enjoy!

Author Reply: Thanks, I have put it on my "want to read" list!

(grumble, grumble, no time for fanfic any more this week.)

Well done Lindelea. Bilbo sounds more rattled than that tea-cup!

BTW
Just a technical question or two
I take it that adding hyphens links words and makes them count as one
Lindelea-my-dear! *g*
And is a review of ten words or less called a 'drip'?

Author Reply: A drip? Now there's a catchy idea!

Yes, hyphenated words count as one, and another way to shorten an overlong drabble is to make contractions wherever you can.

Yes, I can certainly understand just how upset Bilbo must have been that day! Hilarious!

And so reminiscent of Primsong's "Nothing of Note."

Congratulations on the MEFA wins, and particularly the first for "The Healer's Tale." I am applauding, my dear.

Don't know now when I'll be able to come down--one of my clients was placed in a nursing home, but it appears she'll be released to go home again tomorrow. She will need someone by her 24/7 for a time. Don't know when she'll be released at the moment.

Love to the hubby and the lasses.

Author Reply: Thanks! This was the first I'd heard of the MEFA wins, what a nice bit of news!

Well, we'll hope that when you are able to come down, it'll be during good driving weather.

*hugs*

Author Reply: p.s. got a link for "Nothing of Note"? I hadn't heard of that one before.
