Bearer of Bad Tidings  by LOTR lover 3 Review(s)

You know, I'm not sure I ever read this. The other two stories you posted I remember well. Reading this I had to wonder if Celebrian had a mother's insight into what would come of her daughter? I hope so, because then it might ease Elrond's guilt and God knows he had enough to bear already.

I miss your stories but hope you're doing well!

I am such a sucker for Angsty stories!! What a lovely story LOTR lover! Thank you for not delving into their grief, as I read these at work and can not be crying as I answer the phones! LOL. Very poingant. I really liked it. Thanks for sharing a glimpse into Elrond's love of his wife and family.

Author Reply: I'm glad you liked it. I didn't want to write their grief and coming to terms (or not) with the situation, but I did want to get into Elrond's head a bit. No, please don't cry at work! I answer phones for a living too, and I know you don't want to be sniffling away over the lines.

This is a lovely mix of sadness and joy, which seems right, under the circumstances. Elrond had many concerns here, from Celebrian's "brittleness" when he last saw her to the terrible news about Arwen. But Galadriel is right. He can only go on, and if they do it right, they can both find joy.

Author Reply: Thank you, daw. Poor Elrond has been through so much loss in his lifetime and has hung in there so faithfully. I feel sure the Valar will do as much as they can to help him and Celebrķan find a new balance in their marriage. After all, they already sent Glorfindel to watch over him!
