A Healer's Tale  by Lindelea 8 Review(s)

Oh, poor Ted! I bet he got something to think about now, lol. Poor Woodruff too. It`s a sad thing the pot broke and it`s a sad think Pippin broke it again. He always wants to do his best though and now he`s got a concussion on top of not being able to fix the pot. This is just excellent! Off to next chapter... Have got my permanent line now. :)

Author Reply: Yes, Ted is definitely thinking about something. His character is about to be exposed for what it is, in the next few chapters. (Not to worry; I have only the highest opinion of Ted.)

Congratulations on your permanent line!

Yes, this is right in line with my feeling Pippin feels the need to help others retain their sense of humor. Needs to help them smile indeed.

Author Reply: Yes, we seem to perceive Pippin as the mood-enhancer, if not the clown he was portrayed in the films. (And poor Merry, with his reputation so besmirched by the films. Anyone who didn't read the book would think *he* was the fool.)

Poor Pippin! All he wants to do is glue it back together, and he nearly knocks his little brains out. Has there ever been such a disaster prone Took before? (Oh, right, Ferdi...LOL! Have you ever tried to keep track of which one of the two has been hurt/sick the most?)

And poor Ted--timing is everything, isn't it? I wonder how long it will take to set *that* misconception straight?

And what scheme has wee!Pip concocted in his addled little head?

Author Reply: Pippin reminds me strongly of a certain 6yo I know... who just yesterday broke yet another of our pretty breakables, no malice, no mischief, simply poor judgment mixed with the coordination (or lack thereof) of a youngster.

Ah, Ted. He will have a chance to show his true colors.

And what makes you think Pip has a scheme? (You're right, BTW)

I wonder what he's planning!

<>< Saved from sin through Christ,
MJ

Author Reply: All will become clear in a few updates (got a slight plot diversion before we get back to Pippin).

Thanks!

Love your sig line.

Poor everyone in this chapter! Totally cruel and unfair cliff hanger as well ;) This really is most excellent :) :)

Author Reply: Whew, glad you added the last bit or I'd be worried and apologetic. *g* Thanks!

Oh no! Ted thinks Woodruff is in love with Mardi. I hope he doesn't stomp off without a word. Woodruff won't understand and she's been hurt enough.

Typical Pippin. Sweet but disaster-prone. I wonder if, sometimes in the deep dark watches of the night, instead of counting sheep, Woodruff tries to tot up the number of hours she has spent sitting next to Pippin's sick bed. Probably not. She'd lose track by the time she got to several hundred.

I look forward to seeing how Pippin manages to compensate Woodruff for the broken teapot. He hasn't quite grasped sentimental attachment yet, has he? But I'm sure whatever he does will become equally treasured.

Author Reply: Ted's not the sort to stomp off, though you're right, he won't say a word about what he saw, not in so many words, anyhow. There's a grand misunderstanding brewing, however, which might make for some chuckles in after years.

I'm sure Woodruff would fall asleep well before she totted up that number!

Pippin is going to come out of this smelling like a rose. It just takes some time to get there.

Thanks!

Poor Woodruff! Mardi does seem to take good care of her though. Of course it seems lik Ted resents that. Pippin being convinced that Woodruff has lost her smile because of him and determined to find it again for her is so very sweet! I do hope he manages. Looking forward to more!

Author Reply: Mardi is a caregiver, which is one of the things that makes him a good healer.

Pippin is pretty bright. I'm sure he's figured something out!

Thanks!

All I can say is, I want updates faster!!! What sort of gossip gets spread by Ted? What's Pippin going to do about the flowerpot? And what's next with the interludes? I've read At the End of His Rope, so I'm not sure how much there is left to tell in the interludes, and it seems the history side has lots left to tell. More is always good, at any rate. Excellent work!

Author Reply: You mean, updates every Monday and Wednesday aren't fast enough?

I used to be able to update daily, but have decided that sleep is more important than writing a chapter every day. Isn't that funny? So now I only write half a chapter a day, and spend some time editing, and some time doing RL writing. And then there's the children, and the house... whew.

The interludes will stretch, if need be, until all the history is covered that needs to be covered. Hope it doesn't get tiresome!

Thanks!
