This and That  by Lindelea 6 Review(s)

I love this! Your portrayal of Marigold is excellent, just the kind of sister Sam would have, I think. And as always I love your Rosie! :) I hope someday to write a story about the occupation, but for now I'm content to read and enjoy and be enthralled. :)
God bless,
Galadriel

Oh, Marvelous! Wish I'd seen this one elsewhere!

Yes, Rosie knew, and was able to tell Marigold to hearten her. Am so glad Saruman only got a month in the Shire--unprintable word that he'd become!

But Sam is back and has hardened--become sterner, like the trees he sees replaced. Lovely!

*sigh* Yes, Rosie knew what she was talking about :) And the Shire lived!!

Poor Marigold. Being hungry and cold while in your own home - even if it's a shed - must be dreadful for hobbits. Being hungry and cold and frightened to go out and separated from your love and most of your family, not knowing if your brother is alive or dead and knowing that the persecution of your kind is getting worse and worse. Lying down and giving up must have been the outcome of choice for a fair few hobbits, I should think. Especially among the sick and elderly.

I love the heroic knightly Sam who arrives to save the Shire. OK - so he brought the other Travellers - but for Marigold and Rose, this is the hero that matters most!

Oh, Lin! I remember this one, and it is just as powerful and sad and hopeful this time around--I think this is one of your very best short ones!

Of course Rosie would know if anyone did! Great to read this again Lindelea.
