Dreamflower's Mathoms I  by Dreamflower 3 Review(s)

*hugs Sam* Of course he would miss his Rosie still; a journey across the sea isn't going to take that away. But I'm so glad he has his Frodo and all his other friends around him to help him heal.
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Yes, it's so true. Yet often I read fics where Sam arrives in Tol Erresea, and once he sees Frodo, it's like Rosie never even existed! I think that is why I wrote this one, to kind of counteract that.

Sam has his own healing to do. The loss of Rose would have left a hole in his heart nearly as big as the one that Frodo had left. Sweet and touching, it shows Sam's wonder at being in Valinor and the grief of his loss in so few words.

Author Reply: However happy and grateful Sam was to go to the Blessed Realm and to see Frodo again, he is still going to be missing and grieving over his Rose! I simply can't understand fics where he seemingly forgets all about her once he sees Frodo again.

Some missings are more than others, and this one would be right up there with missing Frodo all those years.

Author Reply: I think it would. JRRT had very strong feelings on the sanctity of marriage, and did not at all feel that even death would break those bonds.
