A Tale That Grew in the Telling  by GamgeeFest 5 Review(s)
Queen GaladrielReviewed Chapter: 16 on 4/20/2006
Oh...I'm glad I'm reading this now, instead of when it was in progress. It sounds horrid, but I don't mean it so, truly. I can't believe it-I know that couldn't have been Frodo; he's not crazy, after all. Yet here I am, shaking and out of breath and can hardly type, and fighting my own tears. But I'll admit to peeking at the reviews as I often do before beginning the story, just to see what others thought, so I know that Frodo *has* to be found and that the ending will be happy. But that doesn't make a difference now. Best correct my shameful, clumsy errors here and go back to reading. I have to get to a good part, or I'll never sleep for...well, what's left of the night. *smiles ruefully* I'm going to hate my love of adventure and excitement in the morning when it's time to hit the books. Excellent writing, my friend!
God bless,
Galadriel, who is still trying without much success to catch her breath. :)

Author Reply: LOL You'll find out soon, if you haven't already, if that really was Frodo that miller saw or not. Either way, Frodo will have a lot to explain when he returns (since you peeked already, I'm not spoiling anything if I say that. ~_^ ) This story was quite horrid to write, so I know exactly what you mean on that account!

It's such a compliment to know that your experience reading this has been so real! I'm glad you're enjoying it and I hope you enjoy the rest. :)

Saradoc knew exactly how they would react, didn't he? So very sad for all of them. The miller and his story are pieces of this puzzle that I can't seem to make fit. This is a great mystery. I am looking forward to reading more.

Author Reply: They all knew how Merry and Pippin would react. They've seen it before, when Frodo lost his parents.

The puzzle, or at least, *this* puzzle, will be pieced together in the next chapter. There's a whole other puzzle that is yet to be solved. ;)

Oh no! Well, we know Frodo survives or Sam wouldn't be telling this story, but goodness me, you've got him in a pickle!

Author Reply: Frodo has gotten into quite a pickle, that was a surprise even for me. I'm still trying to figure out where that twist came from, I wasn't planning on anything that dramatic!

I first reviewed at the beginning and within a couple of days I have caught up. Where's Frodo? Will we get his POV soon? If Sam had opened Frodo's bedroom door at Bag End, would it have been trashed too?

Author Reply: You caught up fast! Frodo's POV is coming up next chapter. That's an interesting thought about Frodo's room at Bag End that never occured to me before, but no, it would not have been trashed.

Goodness, I'm just as intrigued now as I have been! Whatever has happened to Frodo??

Author Reply: We'll finally be getting all the answers next chapter. I know how important it is to you to know that everyone is going to be ok, so I assure you now: Frodo will be just fine. :)
