“Rest well, my friends,” Aragorn said. He kissed them each on the brow. “Food will be brought to you shortly. I will check on you at luncheon.”

“Thanks Strider,” Frodo and Sam said as one.

“The thanks is mine,” Aragorn said, pride filling his heart as he looked up his brave friends.

This is so lovely. I'm just insatiable when it comes to gentle tales about Cormallen.

Author Reply: Thanks, Shirebound! It's reassuring knowing that they will be well looked after by their friends after all their hardships.

Another lovely story, full of comfort.

"Not worse" seems to be the phrase of the day.

I'd say more but there's a dog barking at me to go outside.

Thanks!

Author Reply: It was fun to write some fluff, for all it wanted to be angsty, lol! I wouldn't be surprised if other things were found to be "not worse" throughout the day. :P Thanks for reading!

Very nice scene GF! I enjoyed the Aragorn care for both hobbits. :) I liked Frodo's question too about "how does it feel to be king".
Little in stature they might be, but their spirits were greater than the mightiest of warriors.
I agree whole-heartedly. :)

Author Reply: Aragorn is most attentive of his two dearest friends. :) It was fun to give them this time to catch up with each other and just relax. :) Glad you enjoyed this, dear!

What a sweet story! And they are merry which is even better! Love the teasing, esp. Aragorn's response about not doing worse and Sam's giggle to Frodo's words and that they 'tattle tale' on each other's ills, protective of each other still.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Frodo has plenty of time to brood, lol. Cormallen is, to me, probably the last time he was truly happy, at least while he remained in Middle-earth. So he, and Sam, would naturally be in full hobbity-mode, even if they are tired from their ordeals. It's just fun to see them relaxed and enjoying the company of a dear friend.

Thanks for reading!

Good to see them recovering, even if they must rest a good deal now!

Author Reply: On the mend, but I do think they would have had a LOT of r&r to catch up on, despite their two-week slumber. Thanks for reading!

Loved this; just perfect: “You’ll do all right,” Sam said.

Enjoyed this story and actually wished it was a bit longer. I'm always up for a bit of h/c and I could read reams about Frodo and Sam putting up a brave front despite feeling the full physical and emotional after effects of their actions that led to the destruction of the ring.

Author Reply: Sam does have a knack for getting right to the heart of things. ;) It's always fun to allows these two to be hobbits and tease and joke, all the while looking out for each other. I can imagine after all they've been through, they'd be exhausted and in need of much rest.

Thanks for reading! Glad you enjoyed it!
