GamgeeFest's Keepsakes  by GamgeeFest 6 Review(s)

Lovely. The healer was gifted with peace, wasn't she?

Author Reply: She does a gentle way about her, which I feel is essential to healers, though certainly not mandatory. And her fascination with the Elves will help her gain the trust of her reluctant and stubborn patient. ;) Thanks for reading!

We can certainly see our Frodo and Bilbo here. I, too, find I like Marigold here. Good use of the Master's works.

Author Reply: I can easily see Frodo trying to sneak his way out of a treatment and Bilbo fretting over his cousin. Marigold was an interesting character. She knows how to handle those stubborn Bagginses. ;)

Thanks for reading!

Sometimes-no, often-I think the Baggins stubbornness shows the worst when they're ill. Especially Frodo. :) But Goldie did a wise thing. I think if that lovely poem was read just right, it would put me to sleep too. :)
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: No one likes to be sick, and I can very well imagine the Bagginses being the type of patients that would have the healer in fits over their stubbornness. Marigold was smart to use the poems as a way to soothe Frodo back to sleep.

Thanks for reading!

Hmmm... Interesting. I don't like it as much as some of your others, for some reason, but it's still good. I noticed you slipped in your grammar a bit here and there, tense changes and all, but nothing too bad. That poem is enthralling, though. I'll have to pick up a copy of HoME sometime...

Author Reply: Yep, this was a quick write and post, which means I didn't give myself much time to work with it. I do like that poem and hopefully I'll be able to finish reading it sometime soon! Glad you liked it!

I like Marigold - and her sudden absorption in the charms of Elven poetry is quite understandable. I can just feel for Frodo as he recovers from the childish ailment - he's a limp as a dunked biscuit. The mint flavoured medicine must be a decided plus. Perhaps Frodo should have Marigold give him the recipe, so he can pass it on to a certain Ranger.

Author Reply: Frodo has a long way to go before he's 100% again. Getting the flu for a week is bad enough, recovering from this will be quite trying for Frodo. At least he should still sleep a good deal for the next week. It will be the weeks following that will drive Frodo to tears with boredom.

Marigold was created specifically for Pippinlives, but I might try to work that character into my regular cast of OCs. Hey, anyone who can make medicine taste good is worth keeping around. ;)

It was unlike anything she had ever read, strange and odd and all together wonderful.

I really like that line -- it reminds me of my first reaction to reading "The Lord of the Rings".

:D

Author Reply: Thank you! I think we all felt that way the first time we read LOTR. :)
