Awww, that's so sweet and lovely. Little Sam taking care of Frodo!
Just wonderful, my dear.
Thank you for leading me here!

Author Reply: Sam has always been looking after his Frodo - even at the expense of his breakfast. ;) You're most welcome, dear. I'm glad you're enjoying these little ficlets!

I want to kick myself for not continuing to read these. Very glad I put an author alert up!

This is precious, priceless, and perfect!

The boy faltered on his feet then, his toes getting tired of propping him up for so long... Loved this description...

AND the Elves - what a remarkable interesting thing for Bilbo to have done to the lad... Oh dear *giggles*

Thanks for sharing these - they are a delight!

Author Reply: Sam is such a dear, to want to look after Frodo even at such a young age. Though I image it would be concerning for him, being as he lives in a household where everyone is awake and out of bed before the sun. ;)

Bilbo is quite mischievious here, to play such a trick on trusting Sam! Frodo's suggestion should put a stop to such teasing in the future though. ;)

Thanks for reading!

Thank you for recommending this. What indeed would Frodo do without his Sam? That was mean of Bilbo, but I love Frodo's solution to that.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: I wouldn't want to imagine what Frodo's life would have been like without his Sam. The Quest aside, I think Sam is a big part of what made Frodo's life so bright and cheerful after the death of his parents.

Bilbo was rather mean to take advantage of poor trusting Sam, wasn't he? lol He's a rascal and it's easy to see where Frodo gets his more devious tendencies from. :) That's why Frodo is able to come up with such a good solution to any further trickery on Bilbo's part.

LOL! The next time elves come to the door?! LOL! Oh, that really wasn't nice of Bilbo! :) But it's so funny! I love the way you write wee! Sam, so trusting and loving and serious, just as he would have to have been.
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Bilbo can be rather wicked at times, can't he? Imagine, doing such a thing to poor unsuspecting, gullible Sam! But Frodo gives him the perfect solution. Next time, no one will be stealing any food because Sam will have it all to give to the elves! Even at this young age, Sam already shows much of the traits that he will have later during the Quest.

Thanks for reading!

Cute, cute! Gotta love that Bilbo, what? the old rascal! *gggg*

Author Reply: Thank you! Bilbo is quite the scamp, isn't he - always ready and willing to lovingly tease for the sake of pancakes, lol. Thanks for reading. :)

Oh, that was sweet. Aww, cute little Sam, going to the door to check for Elves. *shakes finger at Bilbo* What a thing to do to a little kid! And just for some pancakes, too! I don't believe it. Well... actually, with Bilbo involved, I do believe it. Anyway, great job as usual. It's always a pleasure to read your work.

Author Reply: Yes, Bilbo is quite the scamp. Now we know where Frodo learned it from, lol. I'm sure Bilbo was just concerned that the pancakes might go bad if they sat out too much longer. *halo*

Poor Sam, so eager to greet the Elves, only to find no one there. He'll wise up to Bilbo's tricks soon enough, or follow up on Frodo's advice and take the food with him! Bilbo won't try that trick again after that. ;)

Would our Bilbo do such a thing to poor little Sam? What a trick to play!

Love the devotion from Sam at obviously such a young age.

Author Reply: Yes, I think Bilbo can have quite a wicked sense of humor at times and he simply couldn't resist playing with Sam a bit.

Sam's devotion here is more rooted in what his father expects of him while he's being tutored by Bilbo, but there is the beginning of that fierce loyalty we come to see in him later. It won't be long before he's telling his betters (Pippin, in this case) to stay away from Frodo's food. :)

Adorable. Sam is wonderfully serious, and has so much to learn about the teasing way of Bagginses! It's so sweet to see his devotion to Frodo.

:D

Author Reply: Children that age are always so serious about such things, lol. They haven't quite developed the sense of humor needed to know when others are having a laugh. And Bilbo - just wicked to take advantage of that! ;) It won't take Sam to wise up though.

Sam has always been devoted to Frodo, though that devotion matured and changed over the years. Now, he's just concerned about seeing to Frodo the way his father no doubt tells him he has to be. The fact that Frodo is so kind and gentle with him only makes Sam want to please him more.
