Some Nameless Place  by Budgielover 3 Review(s)

ARGH!!! They just can't catch a break! You are an evil, evil author-woman, Budgie!! I had hoped that Gandalf would have come in in time...

But I DID love Sam's muttered "Hasn't been so good for the town, neither." That made me laugh... and Merry's goodness in leaving them some gold. I was worried that they didn't have *any* of their money left with which to repay Marly and Peter's goodness, though I knew that eventually they ended up in Minas Tirith.

Ok, two more chapters - this MUST resolve soon. OH, and what is it about powdered myrhh? I'd never heard of it being a healing herb...

I just *devoured* this story. I've glanced at your shorter works at ff.net, but because the pop-ups make it very slow I never chanced a longer work. (Hangs head to admit she never left review, either.)

I admire very much how in the midst of aa thrilling adventure you manage to work in humor. The various fires had me falling out of my chair. And the Fellowship all seem very well characterized, and all have their part displaying their strengths and weaknesses.

And now, I suppose I should join the number of people clamoring for more, soon. The cliffhanger will kill me...

Thanks so much for hours of enjoyment.

Author Reply: Hello lorie945. Thank you for the review, and you are absolved from guilt in not leaving one before. Lots of people don't, but we writers always appreciate the ones that do - they give us the incentive to keep writing.

I'm glad you are enjoying the story so much. I've had more fun writing it, possibly more than any other of my stories. This one has been absolutely exhausting for all of us... (And I sincerely hope the cliffhangers won't kill you! What a loss!)

The poor Hobbits!! You can feel their tiredness. When I thought they were going to get a night's rest poor Frodo goes and gets himself 'napped again.
Will Merry ever get over his curiousity (he has used up at least two of his nine lives!)

Author Reply: Hello Tetshira! Thank you for the review. Yes, this story certainly has turned into a drama. It started out with just an idea ... Fellowship goes into a town and accidently burns down a building ... but like the accidental fires, it got out of control...

I'm plotting a story now in which Merry learns not to pick up strange objects like metal throwing stars or odd pieces of glass ("The Ruin of Men and Elves"). You should see it posted in a few months (there are other strories ahead of it, and I try to be somewhat disciplined.)
