Following the Other Wizard: journey into healing  by jodancingtree 6 Review(s)

Mugs of beer?! Mugs of beer came out of the sack? I love it. And it took the dirty dishes too.

I was actually wondering when Radagast left Rhosgobel. You say it was when the Nazgul came to Dol Guldur (at least, I think that's what you say). Is there canon support for that? It's plausible.

This seems like a good place for Nano to me. I am afraid I am such a mom, though, that I want there to be someone to love him as well as teach him.

I'm fascinated by this story! I've been away for two weeks, and now I am amazed to see that you've updated so many new chapters! :) Wonderful - so I can dive into your story again...
I love the way you describe the characters and "paint" the story. In this chapter I particularly loved how Nano found a "his destination" in the Glittering Caves.

Author Reply: Welcome back, Nivina! I like Gimli so much, & I always thought it was so cool how he went back to the Glittering Caves and made them his life's work - I just had to get him into the story. And he seemed just the person to "adopt" Nano!

What can I say??? This is such an awesome story. I love how it just progresses and goes on and it feels like your traveling along with Radagast and Frodo. It's sad to see Nano leave them. It was a surprise to see him take an interest in gen-cutting. It was good to see Gimli pop up! I am just enjoying this story very much :)
I was inspired by one of the chapters where they're on the beach. An idea about something that happens while they're there is in my head. Could I use that part in the story to write my idea?

Author Reply: Thank you, Coneflower! Write your idea, by all means - there just can't be any finer compliment for a story, than to have other authors writing spin-offs from it! (Well, look at all of us writing LOTR fanfic, right?) >vbg<

This is such a beautiful, bittersweet story. It's absolutely amazing what you've done with the idea for Frodo's healing. I eagerly await more!

Author Reply: Thank you, Breon! I'm working like aa beaver on the next chapter, so hope there will be more soon. Thank you for reviewing!

Yes, Frodo seems healed quite a bit in his physical health. I am not surprised that the March illness was less this year. But until he can fully accept who he is, and what is in his past, his healing will not be complete. It is a mark of this that he can barely speak to Gimli of it, and not at all to the other dwarves. I have a feeling Nano is not out of the story for good, is he? I'll be looking forward to what you come up with next.

Author Reply: You're so right -- Frodo has a long way to go in his emotional healing. I hadn't thought about his inability to speak about it as a symptom of that, but it is, of course.

What a marvelous chapter. I never expected this encounter (and neither did they!). How wonderful that Nano has found his "place" at last. I wish the same for Frodo.

Author Reply: Oh, I really wanted Frodo to run into Gimli - he's such a marvelous character, and much under-represented in fanfiction! And he'd be just the person to deal with Nano...

But Frodo - poor dear, his rightful place is in the Shire, and that's just where he can't bear to be.
