Following the Other Wizard: journey into healing  by jodancingtree 3 Review(s)

I found this story through the Mithril semi-finalists' list and also through the recommendation of Rose Sared, and I have to say, I'm very glad I did. I was interested first because Radagast has put in a tiny appearance in two of my stories, but you put me so much to shame! Your Radagast remindes me in a way of Brother Caedfael. Do you know those mystery stories? He's a healer. This chapter was wonderful. Frodo becomes one of the birds and Radagast is famous for his friendship and understanding of them.

Oh! I am so pleased to see this story! I loved the first one and remember it very clearly and fondly, and so it is such a gift to see another.

I truly appreciate the way Frodo must learn humility and gentle wisdom, and how Radagast simply will not allow him to wallow in self-hate. For even Frodo, who is most often seen as humble, still has a certain wild self-absorption left over as legacy of his "failure" at the end of the Quest.

This first chapter promises another rare treat of a story. Thank you so much for writing this. (Oh, and I do so love to see Bombadil and Goldberry again. They are so often overlooked or derided in the world of fanfiction, which saddens me. They defy definition which perhaps is why many people are uncomfortable with them.)

Author Reply: Thank you, Gentle Hobbit! This story has been in the works for many months -- I'm so glad you liked the beginning, and I hope you'll continue to enjoy it. There'll be other old friends turning up as it goes on - I'm writing a Gimli chapter right now - just hope I can do him justice! (I had a *lot* of help with Tom and Goldberry, most especially from Lindelea. (bows deeply and throws a kiss)

Nice to find this here, the site where I read most often. How does this link up with part II, or doesn't it yet? Don't have time to read to the end tonight, my online time is done for today.

Author Reply: Hi, Lindelea! This part runs right into Part 2 -- the connecting chapter is finished already; now I just have to *get* there! By the way, threw you a posy in my reply to the last review --
