Manwë and Varda were fond of the Vanyar, while Aulë held the Noldor under his guardianship, from him they learnt in great details his lore, sometimes even surpassing him in craftmanship. They grew ever more insatiable for knowledge; their tongue was ever changing, for they sought the fairest names for all perceived, in homage to the perfect Creation the Valar had wrought. The masons of the House of Finwë were the first, who, wandering among the hills in search for stone, discovered the Earth's precious gems, unlocking thirst to devise tools to shape and cut them; for they shone. They kept none of these riches, in virtuous sharing, giving them freely, unconditionally; generously; enriching Valinor's beauty, for they were caring, no avidity known to them, gratefully, venerably.
